- Olympic Representative
- Four-time Collegiate All American ('86, '87, '89, '90)
Lovell and Ogletree teamed up to sail the '93 Miami OCR which they won and had a good time while doing it. Success at subsequent regattas,
including a win at the Nationals, ranked them #1 on the US Sailing Team
that year. Getting off to such a good start convinced the duo to pursue
an Olympic campaign.
Lovell credits their great friendship as the thing that makes their efforts
on the water pay off. Lovell also credits his father as being the most
influential person on his athletic career, "he started me sailing
at an early age and has supported me ever since--financially and
motivationally."
