A professional sailor/coach/consultant, "Gebi" has been sailing
from his own back yard since age 8. An avid surfer and catamaran racer, boardsailing
was a natural progression sparked by sibling rivalry. Gebi won his first national
championship just over a year after learning to boardsail. In 1984 he was
the tuning partner for Scott Steele (Silver medalist) which motivated his own
pursuit of Olympic medals.
With two Olympic medals in boardsailing Gebi is focused on competing in
his third Olympic Games. If he qualifies, and wins a Gold medal, he will be
ensured a place in the history books with one of the few complete sets of medals.
