A rower since 1988 as an undergraduate, when a knee injury curtailed her basketball career. Was on the national rowing team from 1991 to 1993. Among her rowing credits: 1992 alternate for the Olympic team and second in the alternate race in Barcelona; first in the 1993 U.S. national women's pair; first in women's eight, four and pairs in the 1992 U.S. National Championships; first in the 1989 and 1990 Olympic Festival women's eight and four; first in the senior women's eight in the 1990 American Rowing Championships. International titles include first in women's pairs at the 1991 Pan American Games and first in senior women's eight at the 1990 Royal Canadian Henley. Received her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at Davis in 1990. From graduation until being chosen for the America3 team, she lived in Seattle and Virginia training for the 1996 Olympics. During her current year of preparation for the America's Cup in San Diego, she plans to continue training in her rowing scull whenever possible. After San Diego, she plans to return to the national rowing training center in Augusta, Georgia.(1/1/95)
