Grew up on a farm in Wellington, New Zealand. Began sailing in a "P" class dinghy at age 11. First career was with United Airlines, but has spent the past seven years working on and racing yachts. Veteran of more than 30 international World Cup races in 50' yachts since 1989. Certified open water diver and holds U.S. Coast Guard operator's license. Married since 1990 with permanent U.S. residency. Her husband has sailed in previous America's Cup races and now manages race boat programs.
