World class sailor. Won the 1992 Olympic Bronze medal in Barcelona in the Women's 470 class (with teammate Pam Healy). She and Healy were the only Americans in 1991 to win the prestigious Women's 470 World Championship. Among her many other national and international titles: 1986 and 1991 Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year; first in the 1987 Rolex International Match Racing and Formula One circuits. A graduate of Yale University, where she was the first female captain of the varsity sailing team and one of the few women to be named Collegiate All-American. Husband Peter Isler is an ESPN sportscaster and well-known top match race sailor who was navigator for Dennis Conner on Stars & Stripes in 1988. Their daughter Marly was born in October 1993.(1/1/95)
