Seasoned veteran of U.S. and international sailboat racing circuits, with more than 17 championships to her name in a variety of races. Ranked no. 1 on the U.S. Sailing Team for six years in a row from 1989 to 1994. No. 5 in world sailing ranks from 1990 through 1993. Titles include: former Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year; Yachtsman of the Year; Athlete of the Year in the Sport of Yachting (by U.S. Olympic Committee); Gold Medal in the 1990 Women's Sailing Pre-Olympics; second and fourth place in the European Dinghy World Championships. In addition to sailing, she's an accomplished wind surfer on the Columbia River. Has a bachelor's degree in psychology and business from Eckerd College. To participate on the America3 team, she had to suspend operation of the sailing school business she began in February 1994.
