Born and raised in southern California until age 11, when she moved to Oregon. Spent six years working in group homes for the physically and mentally challenged. Attended Western Oregon State College in Monmouth. A versatile and accomplished all-around athlete, she began weight lifting at age 14 and became a professional body builder at age 22 after winning the 1990 U.S. championship. Placed third in the 1992 Ms. Olympia competition. Prior to joining America3, she spent three seasons as "SIREN" on the weekly television show, "American Gladiators," and was starting her first season with a new children's show called "Gladiator 2000." Married since March 1993 to John Romano, her nutritionist and coach. Both represent Twin Laboratories, the largest sport supplement company in the world, and are spokespersons for Muscular Fitness and Health magazine.(1/1/95)
